Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:9-10 “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.”Ģ Corinthians 4:16-18 “Therefore we do not lose heart. Psalm 27:1 – 3 “The Lord is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life-of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Romans 8:18 “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:3-5 “ Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance perseverance, character and character, hope. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. Do not be afraid do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”Ģ Corinthians 12:9-10 “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”ġ John 4:4 “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil my cup runneth over. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. Psalm 23:1-6 (KJV) “The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. I pray that these verses will truly encourage you as you face the challenges of life. He never promised that life would be easy for us, but He gave us His promises in scripture to help us when we struggle, whatever the struggles we face may be. Jesus had upset in His life: temptation, loss, persecution and suffering the likes I can’t comprehend at the hands of his tormentors leading up to and including His being nailed to a cross. It is a false teaching that claims that when you become a Christian you will never have upset in your life. Hard times, health, loss of a job, divorce, abuse, financial burdens…the list is endless when it comes to personal struggle. Since I started to compile scripture and then posting verses here on Journey Thoughts to give encouragement to those who need peace, or those who are under stress, I have received numerous emails from people around the world who are facing all kinds of struggle.
